METRO: Washington Metopolitan Area Transit Authority
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) consists of rail and bus routes in the national capital area. Today, Metrorail serves 91 stations and has 117 miles of track. Metrobus serves the nation's capital 24 hours a day, seven days a week with 1,500 buses. Metrorail and Metrobus serve a population of 5 million within a 1,500-square mile jurisdiction.

Maryland Transit Administration
The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is a division of the Maryland Department of Transportation, and one of the largest multi-modal transit systems in the United States. MTA operates Local and Commuter Buses, Light Rail, Metro Subway, Maryland Area Regional Commuter (MARC) Train Service, and a comprehensive Paratransit (Mobility) system. MTA also manages the Taxi Access system, and directs funding and statewide assistance to Locally Operated Transit Systems (LOTS) in each of Maryland’s 23 counties, Baltimore City, Annapolis and Ocean City.

Ride On Bus Information: Routes, Fares, Schedules
Montgomery County Department of Transportation provides bus service throughout Montgomery County. The Division plans, schedules and manages the County's own RIDE ON bus system consisting of 335 County owned and operated buses. The RIDE ON system is designed to complement the service provided by the other transit providers in the County. The RIDE ON system provides almost 30 million trips per year.
Metrobus provides more bus stops in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. Metrobus is the sixth busiest bus agency in the United States, with a fleet of more than 1,500 buses operating on 325 routes.
TAXI-CAB SERVICE
Taxicabs in Montgomery County are regulated by the Department of Transportation and operate under established standards. MCDOT cares about your safety and comfort.

SUBWAY
Metrorail provides safe, clean, reliable transit service throughout the Washington, DC area. The system is the second busiest in the United States, serving 91 stations in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
The Metrorail system has six color-coded rail lines: Red, Orange, Silver, Blue, Yellow, and Green. The layout of the system makes it possible to travel between any two stations with no more than a single transfer.
